Local SEO
Show up when someone nearby is looking
Local SEO is the work that helps a search engine understand what your business does and where it does it. When someone in your area searches for that service, you want to be one of the businesses they can find.
In plain language
What Local SEO actually means
Say someone in London has a leaking water heater. They pick up their phone and search for someone who fixes water heaters nearby. In the next few seconds a short list of businesses appears, and one of them gets the call.
Local SEO is the work that gives your business a chance to be on that list. It is not a trick and it is not a subscription that magically produces phone calls. It is making sure your website says clearly what you do, where you do it and why someone should trust you, and making sure a search engine can read all of that without guessing.
How local search works
Three things influence local results
Google explains local results as being mainly about relevance, distance and prominence. It is worth knowing which of those you can influence and which you cannot.
Relevance
How well your business matches what someone searched for. This is the part we can work on directly: clear service pages, honest descriptions of what you do, and content that uses the words your customers actually use.
Distance
How far you are from the person searching, or from the area they searched in. Nobody can optimise this away. What we can do is make sure the areas you genuinely serve are stated clearly on your website.
Prominence
How well known your business is. Reviews, mentions, links from other local sites and a complete Google Business Profile all feed into this. It builds slowly and it cannot be shortcut.
Based on Google Business Profile Help guidance on how local ranking works.
What we set up
The groundwork, done properly
This is the list of things that get handled on a Local SEO project. Most of it happens once, at the start, and then keeps working.
-
01
Website optimisation
Every page gets a unique title and description, one clear H1, headings in a logical order and a URL that reads like a sentence. Basic, and skipped more often than you would think.
-
02
Service pages that stand on their own
One page per service, written so that someone searching for that specific thing lands on a page about that specific thing rather than a homepage that mentions it in passing.
-
03
Location relevance
Your service area stated plainly, in normal sentences. Not the same paragraph repeated with the city swapped out, which search engines have been ignoring for years.
-
04
Google Business Profile guidance
If your business qualifies for a profile under Google’s rules, we will walk you through claiming and completing it: categories, services, hours, photos and description.
-
05
Technical SEO
Fast loading, mobile usability, clean markup, image compression, no broken links and no accidental instructions telling Google to stay away.
-
06
Search Console and indexing
We set up Google Search Console, verify the site, submit the sitemap and confirm your pages are actually indexed. Then you can see what people are searching to find you.
-
07
Internal linking
Pages that link to each other in a way that makes sense to a person. This helps visitors find what they need and helps search engines understand how your site fits together.
-
08
Reviews and trust
Guidance on asking real customers for reviews and responding to them. We will never write fake ones, and we will not put invented testimonials on your website.
Honest expectations
What we will not promise you
We would rather tell you this now than have you find out later. SEO is a long game and there are parts of it nobody controls.
- Nobody can guarantee a position in search results. Anyone who does is guessing or worse.
- Local visibility builds over weeks and months, not days.
- A brand new website has no history, so it takes time for Google to work out what it is.
- Competitive areas and competitive services take longer than quiet ones.
- Reviews and local reputation matter, and those come from your customers, not from us.
- What we control is the foundation: a fast, clear, properly built site that gives you a fair chance.
How it works
Four steps, no surprises
You will always know what is happening and what happens next.
-
01
Tell us about your business
We start with a conversation. What you do, who your customers are, what you want the website to accomplish and what has not been working. No forms full of jargon.
-
02
We design and build
We handle the design, the writing structure, the development and the technical setup. You get updates as it comes together, so nothing is a surprise at the end.
-
03
You review it
You see the finished website before anyone else does. Tell us what to change and we change it. This is the part where we get the wording and the details right.
-
04
We launch
Once you approve it, we connect the domain, set up the SSL, submit the site to Google and make sure the forms reach your inbox. Then it is live.
Do you help with SEO?
Yes. Every site we build includes the SEO basics: page titles, descriptions, proper headings, a sitemap, clean URLs and fast loading. Local SEO goes further and covers service pages, location relevance, Search Console, indexing and the ongoing work of being found in your area.
Can you help my website show up on Google?
We can build the foundation that gives you a fair chance: a fast site, clear service pages, proper titles and headings, a sitemap submitted to Google, and content that says what you do and where you do it. Nobody can guarantee a ranking position, and anyone who does is guessing. What we can promise is that the technical side will be done properly.
How much does a website cost?
Most small business websites we build start between $299 and $1,299 depending on how many pages you need and how much custom work is involved. Pricing on our pricing page is a starting point. Once we know what your business needs, you get an exact number before any work begins.
How long does a website take to build?
A small site is usually ready in about a week. A larger one takes longer, mostly because of the review rounds and gathering photos and content. We give you a timeline before we start, and the biggest factor is normally how quickly we can get information back from you.
Do you provide ongoing support?
Yes. After launch you can send us changes as you need them. Updating prices, swapping photos, adding a service page or fixing something small. There is no requirement to sign up for a monthly plan.
Want to know where you stand?
Send us your website and the services you want to be found for. We will take a look and tell you what we would change first.
